The Atos Origin and Financial Insights Bankers’ Boardroom Series is a strictly by-invitation only, peer-to-peer discussion group for senior banking practitioners, across the Asia/Pacific region. 

Over the past few years, Financial Insights has had the opportunity to engage and discuss business, technology and operational issues with hundreds of CXO-level bankers in the Asia/Pacific region. Most of the bankers indicated the need to create a “council of excellence”, comprising of senior practitioners able to elaborate on the key issues they are facing, and suggest alternative solutions. This Bankers’ Boardroom is also designed to be a platform where innovative regional and global best practices can be highlighted. 

According to the Financial Insights’ Top 10 survey, a large number of external and internal initiatives will lead the charge for incremental operational and capital expenses. Some of those catalysts of change include: Risk and Compliance, Customer Initiatives and Revamp of Channel Investments, Datacenter Consolidation, Core Banking Systems Refresh, and Outsourcing/Insourcing, among others. 

Meanwhile, an increasingly number of IT vendors and service providers pitch end-to-end offerings to the banks, with a view of resolving a range of business, time-to-market, scalability and operational issues. These integrated, supposedly foolproof and cost-effective options have to be thoroughly evaluated before implementation. 

The Bankers’ Boardroom endeavors to capture these industry developments and vendor initiatives, and disseminate evolving regional and global best practices relevant to Asia/Pacific banks.
