19 June 2014, Singapore
Atos, an international IT services company and Worldwide IT Partner for the Olympic Games since 2001 and the 28th Southeast Asia Games IT Integrator, officially launched its new APAC headquarters and Singapore office today. The event was officiated by Mr Lim Teck Yin, CEO of Sport Singapore, re-affirming the company’s commitment to Singapore’s nation-building and its continued focus on increasing its market share in the dynamic APAC region.
The office relocation stemmed from the Atos need for additional space to meet growing expectations and demand for the company services. It also marks a symbolic new beginning for Atos as Singapore prepares to celebrate its Golden Jubilee and the next lap of growth.
With the move, Atos is poised to increase its level of service to clients and partners in Singapore as well as across APAC, and deliver more extensive and high-value solutions that are aligned with Singapore’s nation building including one of its core competencies – Sport IT.
Atos has already achieved several significant milestones with Singapore. It led the technology effort in staging the successful inaugural Youth Olympic Games in 2010 that put Singapore on the world Sports map. Recently, the company won the IT implementation and sponsorship for the much anticipated 28th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games. Atos is working closely with Sport Singapore and other sponsors to deliver a stable, accurate, timely and on-budget Singapore SEA Games in 2015.
Atos recognises that the new growth markets are in Asia Pacific. The company’s appointment as chief IT system integrator of the 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China; Pyeongchang 2018 Olympic Winter Games in South Korea and the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics in Japan signal its growth ambition in this region. Presently, the company is in the midst of preparing for the Youth Olympic Games in August 2014. This is the second time Atos secured a Youth Olympic Games contract following the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games. The company also serves a number of key clients in APAC, spanning sectors including manufacturing, retail & services, finance and public sector.
Atos is engaged in an active programme of corporate citizenship across APAC. To celebrate Singapore’s Golden Jubilee and contribute to its nation building, Atos launched a new sports excellence and scholarship program with Singapore Sports School. The sports excellence scholarships were awarded to 4 talented athletes including Jaris Goh, who recently clinched the 2013 Sportsboy of the Year award. The scholarship fund is for a period of 2.5 years and was finalised with an MOU at the launch event.
This scholarship is aligned with Atos Global Sustainability program, and highlights the Atos partnership with the Olympic Games as well as the importance of information technology in athletics and business performance.
“Along with Atos growth and success in APAC, we’re pleased to have taken another step in the right direction. The launch of our APAC headquarters and Singapore’s office marks the next phase of Atos and Singapore’s partnership. I pledge the continuing support of Atos to the future growth of Singapore, and beyond that, to other countries in this dynamic region,” said Mr Herbert Leung, CEO of Atos in APAC. “The scholarship with Singapore Sports School demonstrates Atos’ commitment to build a better Singapore through sporting excellence, and keep alive the dreams of young aspiring athletes as they strive to rise above the odds and become Singapore’s sporting stars."
