Frost & Sullivan name Atos winner of the 2012 Global Visionary Innovation Award

London, 6 December 2012 - Frost & Sullivan name Atos winner of the 2012 Global Visionary Innovation Award

Atos was named the recipient of the Frost & Sullivan 2012 Global Visionary Innovation Award for its Zero Email TM Program. Thierry Breton, Atos Chairman & CEO, launched this initiative in Februay 2011 in recognition that the volume of emails sent and received internally, was becoming unsustainable for business.

The award which recognizes companies that have achieved world-class performance within their industries was presented at the Excellence in Best Practices Awards Banquet held in London last night.

Archana Amarnath, Program Manager, Visionary Innovation Research Group at Frost & Sullivan said: “We applaud Atos for successfully deploying innovative tools and propagating collaborative social media tools and enterprise communication networks for communication, documentation and project management. This ambitious “Zero email TM” initiative of Atos, indeed, removes all externalities of electronic mail while still maintaining a sustainable business model and greater innovation for clients. We are sure that its progress will be closely followed by many organisations equally keen to find an alternative to end the email overload. Atos is taking a pragmatic approach to achieving its vision and we look forward to seeing them achieve their success.”

Ursula Morgenstern, UK CEO at Atos said: “Our Zero email TM ambition has been embraced by our employees, who are eager to find a smarter way to work. Those who have been involved in the first pilots are finding that social collaboration is more effective than email and are reporting better productivity, team working, knowledge sharing and sales synergies.”

The Atos Zero email TM ambition forms part of the Company’s Wellbeing at Work programme and is on track to replace internal email by the end of 2013.  Atos has Zero email Certified™ flagship processes including those for Security Identification and Event Management (SIEM) at the London 2012 Olympic Games and the operations of its Global Executive Committee.

Atos is also rolling out the latest “ZEN” release from  blueKiwi, Europe’s leading social software company which Atos acquired in April 2012.  ZEN by blueKiwi provides a Facebook-like work environment employees can collaborate to work smarter, share information, find experts and build their own network.
